Conor McGregor has no interest in 'strange' fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson

Conor McGregor doesn't love Jake Paul's latest opponent choice.

On Thursday, 'The Problem Child' announced he will fight boxing legend Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Texas on July 20 – but fans were quick to criticise the matchup.

KSI, who has shared a heated rivalry with Paul for years, blasted him on social media for signing to box a 57-year-old after claiming he wants to become a world champion.

He tweeted: "50+ years old. No one wanted this… So sad to see man…"

Now, McGregor expressed his opinion on the fight, which will be broadcast on Netflix and see Tyson return to the ring for the first time since facing Roy Jones Jr in November 2020.

It’s fair to say the UFC superstar finds the matchup a bit weird.

“Oh jeez," McGregor said when asked for his thoughts on Paul vs Tyson.

"It’s a bit strange, you know. My interest is low.

"I don’t know. I don’t understand it.

"I wish well for Mike [Tyson].”

Soon after Paul announced his next opponent, worrying footage from 2022 showing Tyson using a walking stick, and wheelchair resurfaced online.

Regardless of what everyone else thinks, 'Iron Mike' is confident he can overcome his various disadvantages to record a massive win over a man 30 years his junior this summer.

"I’m very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas," Tyson said in a press release.

"He’s grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT.

“It’s a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch, as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now, I plan to finish him."
