Where is Canelo Alvarez’s place in boxing history? Let’s take a quick look.

First off, people forget Alvarez is still only 34-years-old ahead of his latest fight this weekend against Edgar Berlanga.

A dangerous fight for him, mind you.

Alvarez is already in fact an all time great even at the young age.

Turning pro at 15, nearly 20 years on, he has won world titles in four weight divisions.

A force who even went up to light-heavyweight, crazily really, to take on Dmitry Bivol whom he lost to on the night on points.

Alvarez is always chasing greatness and his resume is the crème de la crème of boxing over the last decade.

The big question is will he be considered the best Mexican fighter of all time ahead of Chavez Sr?

Maybe. He has certainly like Chavez inspired a generation of Mexicans.

To do that surely he will need to fight the likes of a David Benavidez or Terence Crawford even, or another big challenge.

First thing is first, this weekend at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

No forgone conclusion either.
