'Boxing Beethoven' – Louis Theroux hits back at Piers Morgan call-out after Anthony Joshua interview

Louis Theroux vs Piers Morgan is the boxing fight that no-one was calling for, but both men seem up for it.

During a recent interview with Anthony Joshua, the former two-time heavyweight champion told Theroux that if he had a televised fight it would do well numbers wise.

Theroux and Joshua discussed a number of topics including who the documentarian could beat in the ring

Theroux then asked Joshua who he would match him against and AJ suggested Kugan Cassius, the founder of boxing YouTube channel IFL TV.

This took Theroux by surprise, as he replied: “Wait, the boxing journalist? I thought you were going to say someone like Phillip Schofield.”

One of Theroux’s producers then shouted out Piers Morgan’s name and the interviewer liked the sound of it, saying: “That's a perfect match-up.

“Number one. He's very famous… and I think I could take him.”

After watching this clip, Morgan replied on X with two laughing emojis followed by: “Have you lost your marbles, @louistheroux?

“I'd destroy you in 30 seconds, you puny wastrel.”

Before Theroux clapped back: “I don’t think you’ve got the cardio fitness, Piers, TBF (to be fair).

“You’d gas out and after that I’d just be playing music on your chin like a boxing Beethoven.”

And fans were absolutely loving Theroux’s response, as one commented: “No need to box now, after that comment there is nothing left of him.”

Another added: “Playing music on your chin like a boxing Beethoven. Love it!”

While a third said: “Louis coming with the smoke.”
