Michael Zerafa vs Tommy Browne descended into chaos on Wednesday when a brawl broke out in the ring post-fight.

Browne retired on his stool at the end of the opening round after a dominant showing from Zerafa.

The 41-year-old from New South Wales, Australia cited an injury to his left bicep as the reason for his early shower.

But Zerafa, took exception to his opponent’s withdrawal and began firing verbal jabs at Browne from across the ring.

This prompted, Browne’s trainer, Tommy Mercuri, to square up to Zerafa before security stepped in to separate the pair.

However, the drama didn’t stop there.

Things turned ugly when Zerafa’s brother stormed the ring and threw a punch at Mercuri as all hell broke loose.

"This is not good stuff," said Fox Sports Australia commentator Ben Damon.

"The fight didn't get going but now it's getting ugly regardless.

“And we need this calm right down as Michael Zerafa yells that Browne quit.”

Browne was clearly injured, with his bicep left unravelled halfway up his arm in the immediate aftermath.

He tried showing Zerafa his injury several times but his brash adversary was having none of it.

Zerafa's brother was escorted out of the venue while the Melbourne puncher took to the mic to call out the winner of the main event between Nikita Tszyu and Koen Mazoudier.

"Man, I was in first gear," said Zerafa. “He quit in the second round. It is what it is.

“Nikita, I'm coming… I want the Tszyu boys. I love all my haters. Keep on hatin' Zerafa ain't going fuckin' nowhere."

Zerafa is now 32-5 (20 KOs) following his win at the ICC Sydney Theatre.

This marks his first fight back after being stopped by Erislandy Lara inside two rounds for the WBA middleweight title in March.
