Ben Whittaker is open to a ‘one-off’ clash with Chris Eubank Jr in the future.

Whittaker is becoming one of the fastest-rising superstars in British boxing, with his brash-talking personality and entertaining style attracting the attention of a global fanbase.

Recently, already-established star Eubank Jr, who is a BOXXER stablemate of ‘Benzo’, appeared to open the door to a huge domestic clash with the young talent.

And Whittaker has now issued a response, telling Sky Sports: "He classed it as a sexy fight – I'd say more like Beauty and the Beast.

“But yeah of course, you can never say never, it's a good fantasy fight. He's got a great name and who knows? I'd be up for it.

"It would be a one-off fight. It would have to be a catchweight of some sort – hopefully super-middleweight.

“But if he's game, I'm game. Tell Turki [Alalshikh] to set it up. I'm alright with that."

He then added: “If the money’s there, sign me up. I’m bigger, I’m younger, I’m fresher. I wouldn’t turn it down.

“But it is a bit of a weird fight that’s come about. Like I said, it would be a fun one to tick off the list.

“I’m bigger. They make weight classes for a reason and I think he’s coming to the end of his career.

“I’m in the middle of starting my career so for me it’s probably the right time to catch him. “I just tick every department.

“He’s got experience. He’s been in there in some bigger fights of course but I just think if it did come to it, I’m better.”

There would likely be huge interest in seeing the pair compete against each other, despite being at opposite ends of their careers.

The pair will both next compete on the undercard of Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol, with Eubank Jr fighting Kamil Szeremeta while Whittaker will take on Liam Cameron.

Eubank Jr is currently trying to push his way towards world title contention, but has always stated he is open to fights that make financial sense.

He has missed out on clashes against Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez in recent weeks, but is hopeful of returning to the top in due course.

Meanwhile, Whittaker is hopeful of pushing towards fighting for domestic titles in the near future, likely before taking on the likes of Eubank Jr in the near future.
