Anthony Joshua had opponent stumbling around the ring before KOing him with thunderous combination

Alexander Povetkin was a formidable heavyweight, but Anthony Joshua made easy work of him when they fought.

The two men went head-to-head in 2018, and Joshua was at his devastating best, as he dispatched of the Russian comfortably.

Midway through round seven, Joshua landed a heavy right hand that sent Povetkin stumbling back, followed by a sharp left hook that pushed him against the ropes.

Povetkin attempted to counter, but this left him wide open, as Joshua unleashed a body shot and then a vicious left hook-right hand combination that dropped his opponent.

As he attempted to get up, Povetkin almost fell through the ropes, but he somehow found his way back to his feet and convinced the referee that he was able to continue.

But, Joshua did not allow Povetkin any time to recover, as he immediately pounced on him once again.

AJ unleashed a flurry of punches that knocked Povetkin’s head back and forth, as his corner-man jumped onto the side of the ring to try and stop the fight.

Moments later the referee stepped in, as Povetkin collapsed onto the canvas once again and the bout was waved off and Joshua held on to his unified WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight world titles.

Nowadays, Joshua no longer has possession of those belts, having lost against Andy Ruiz Jr and Oleksandr Usyk twice.

But, he has two wins under his belt this year and is back on the rise, as he looks to take on Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabia early next year and truly put his name back among the elite fighters in the heavyweight division.
