Anthony Joshua gives twist in response to question on who would win in fight between Roy Keane and Micah Richards

Roy Keane vs Micah Richards for the next big influencer boxing event? Anthony Joshua thinks so.

Joshua takes on MMA legend Francis Ngannou in an exhibition bout on Friday night and discussed the famous punditry duo while on media duties ahead of fight week.

With the pair in the studio together on punditry duty for Sunday’s Manchester derby, Joshua was asked who would win in a fight between the friends.

"It's a great question that, well let’s look at the tale of the tape shall we?" he told Sky Sports.

"Micah Richards is a big guy, looks like a natural heavyweight, solid.

"When we talk about Roy Keane the one and only, the man that's about that smoke, about that life. I think he's had a bit of amateur experience as well.

"If I was to toss a coin I think it would land on Micah but you know when a coin bounces and flips a few times and lands back on Roy Keane, I think Roy Keane is gonna do the job."

A stunned Richards then appeared on screen and said to Keane: "Hold on! I was 16-and-a-half stone, I'd eat you for lunch!"

Keane didn't disagree either, adding: "I wish I could believe what he was saying, I think Micah would take me very easily. You'd be favourite, but I'd take a draw."

Keane did in fact dabble in boxing during his early days in Ireland, and won every fight he took part in.

As modest as ever, Keane explained: "I didn't have like 50 amateur fights, I only had like three or four.

"But when training sessions started clashing, I decided I wanted to stick with soccer.”
