Amir Khan offers to step in for Mike Tyson and fight Jake Paul on one condition

Amir Khan has offered to replace Mike Tyson for his postponed fight against Jake Paul.

‘King Khan‘ is currently deep in negotiations to face KSI in the squared circle but he also has one eye on the developing situation surrounding Paul vs Tyson.

The pair were set to duke it out on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

However, their fight has been postponed until further notice after ‘Iron Mike’ was deemed medically unfit to compete following an ulcer flare-up on a flight to Los Angeles.

Tyson has made it clear to Paul that he would like the fight to be rescheduled for sometime between October and December.

Although there are fears that the fight may not happen altogether.

If this is to be the case then Khan insists he will step in for Tyson providing Paul comes down in weight.

“If the weights are right [I would step in for Mike Tyson] I don’t mind giving away 20 pounds,” he told Offshore Poker Sites.

“It just depends on the weight because I know Jake has put on a lot of weight to fight Mike.

“Jake’s not normally that big, but he’s put on a lot of mass, so it depends on him, whether he’s willing to lose that weight and we find some middle ground somewhere.

“Let’s see, but I’ve had no calls about that, so I assume they’re still hoping to fight Mike, he’s not going to want to take a beating before that.

“But it’s KSI who has been speaking the big game and once he’s taken a beating, and if I’m going to do that, I may as well bang both of them out.

“I’d take on KSI first and then knock Jake Paul out after that. Let’s see how he looks against Mike Tyson, if he gets knocked out badly I wouldn’t entertain it, but if he looks really good, then it would be worth entertaining.”

Khan competed from lightweight to middleweight during his 40-fight (34-6) pro boxing career.

His best days were spent at super-lightweight where he picked up the WBA and IBF world titles.

Paul, meanwhile, hasn’t boxed lower than a 185lbs catchweight and is said to have bulked up to 230lbs for his heavyweight clash with Tyson.
